If U can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time -- then HOW does Bush

...manage to CON enough young people into thinking there's any honor in becoming cannon fodder in his illegal and mindless "war" in Iraq? How can anyone be crazy enough to ENLIST any more, since that would be their most likely assignment? (I posted a question similar to this a few days ago, and got some decent responses. Of the 20, of course, there were some who were hawks, but they didn't seem to have much in the way of a grasp of the obvious FACTS regarding that losing debacle. UNfortunately, some loony tune deleted the question. That's the bad news. The good news is that I'd already printed it out, along with all its answers, BEFORE that happened to it! This last paragraph is just for the benefit of any who think I asked this before. Yes -- it was a *similar* question. And when it vaporized for absolutely *****NO***** good reason whatsoever (!!!!), it was still an OPEN question!)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people enlist because they are trying to protect America from terrorists coming over here. No one like the war in Iraq but now that we are there, we have to defend ourselves from terrorists coming over here and taking away our freedom.

I just had 2 friends enlist, I don't know them well enough to know their politicle veiws, I know they are young and desperate for a way to better themself, I just hate the fact that they might have to die or be seriously injured and emotionaly damaged for the rest of their lifes for a war we shouldn't be fighting

Agree! Even though joining the military can be considered brave and honorable, it can also be stupid and a ticket to certain death (cannon fodder). Why join when you have an idiot like Bush who starts a needless war that is costing unnecessary deaths? It's like jumping off a building if someone orders you...may be... More

Thank God there are still some brave young men who take pride in serving in the military. Some join because they are in it for a career. Others want to go to college. Some may just be dissatisfied with their lives and want to do something they can be proud of. I do believe more would join up if there wasn't such... More
