Whats the best way to learn how to bartend if you are a guy ?

I am interested in becoming a bartender and have never been behind a bar before. My choices are to go to school and learn or try to get a job as a barback and learn from there. Im not sure what is the best way to go about it. Will a bar or returaunt hire someone with no experience ? Bartending seems very difficult. Can someone tell me what drinks I should memorize so at least I could impress the bar manager when going on an interview. There are over 1500 drinks out there . How the heck do you remember all those recipes . Please give me as much valuable advice as possible. Please call my voicemail at 702-215-8038 and leave me your comment or you can leave me a message and I will call you back. Thanks !
