are the knights of columbus a branch of masons?

I was wondering because I wanna join job's daughters but you have to be related to a mason. and I do know Im related to a knight of columbus.

The Knights of Columbus are not affiliated in any way with Masonry. Although as Freemasons, we have no problem with our members being Catholic, the Catholic church has declared that any Catholic who joins Freemasonry is in a state of sin and cannot receive communion. No. Knights of Columbus are Roman Catholic. The Masons are Protestant. The Vatican has severe warnings against Catholics joining the Free Masons.

no the Knights of Columbus are not connected with the Masonic Fraternity. the Knights of Columbus are Catholic. However, in my area the Knights of Columbus and the Masonic Knights Templar are close friends and work well together. In earlier times there were problems between the Catholics and Masons but no more.
