Where can I apply for low income housing or HUD?

I live in LA county, CA. I am single woman, FT college student w/a disability, and no kids. I need a place to live. My income is spordiac because I have a temporary part time summer job. None of my single friends need or want roommates. I cannot afford the rent here to live on my own. How can I go about finding housing assistance? HUD or a shelter for women? Please help. I have looked for FT and night jobs. No call backs yet. I get paid monthly from my current job. My check does not stretch past the bills and food. I need a little help to get on my feet.

This can take a awhile. If you have a MM office, go in and talk to someone. Make yourself memorable so there is a face and a case... More
