Forecast Analyst
This position will report to the Director of Purchasing and will not have any direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage in-season forecasts and make purchasing recommendations for all categories of merchandise while meeting initial fill objectives and inventory turnover targets. Use the Forecast 21 system for development of forecasts, evaluation of inventory position, and assessment of any required actions. Review with lead buyers for approval. Place orders and reorders with vendors to insure timely delivery of merchandise.Develop partnerships with vendors keeping them informed of inventory position and projection changes while notifying lead buyers of vendor performance.Review inventory and open orders for potential overstock situations and take necessary action. Participate in the identification and disposal of overstocked product.Update Zircon files as necessary to maintain data integrityPrepare written and oral correspondence to vendors and internal customers including regular sales and reforecast reports to key vendors. Work with merchants in pre-season analysis and assortment planning. Participate in new product discussions with lead buyers. Assist with catalog proofing process as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Two years experience forecasting in a direct retail environment preferredPrevious mail-order inventory management and purchasing experience strongly preferred Must have 4 year college degree or equivalent Previous use of forecasting, inventory planning, and purchasing systems required. Strong analytical experience Strong understanding of inventory purchasing, merchandising, and forecasting Team player, maintaining a customer focus, both internally and externally. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications. Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills required.
