How effective is posting resumes through Spherion, office solutions, etc?
Still helping husband get a job. I've been looking at Monster.com and seen many jobs through Spherion, Office Solutions, and other recruiting companies. We have posted his resume with these companies and applied online to several job openings that have been advertised within the last 7 days. How effective will this be? If he has applied to about 10 different positions through these companies, what are the chances of landing an interview/job? He's so desperate that even Temp work and temp to hire is becoming our focus now. Now he's in the mortgage field with a mortgage broker and hasn't had a closing in over 3 months (NO INCOME!). He was in the auto dealership business before.

Spherion is a reputable recruiter. They should respond to the resume post. It is in their best interest to place your husband so I don't see why they wouldn't respond. What field is he in? Maybe he should go through a recruiter directly. Do you live in a small town?

I used to work for Spherion and it was pretty easy to get hired there. All you have to do is fill out the application, then you call or they call you to see if there's anything open. It was pretty fast!
