I want to legally change my name. What are the consequences?

I am a 23 year old Canadian, born in Asia though. I want to change my legally last name, basically for artistic reasons to make it more pronounce-able. I have a university degree and an advanced cert from another university and I am a marketing executive for some prominent brands, so I don't know how things will work with my new name if I change it, and it'll obviously look different from the name on my degree paper and previous employment records. meanwhile i'm constantly looking for jobs, if i interview, i'm just scared that employers will think i'm lying when i don't have say a university certificate that says my new name. has anyone ever done this? (or is this similar to like a name change for a woman when she gets married?) can i still use my old name after i legally change my name to a new last name?

It is not a major thing. Particularly if you are doing it for artistic reasons. You can have a pen name, or stage name etc. without changing your name legally. That is what I would suggest. People understand that , particularly if people find your name difficult.
