Why the so 'respectable' British Social Services are still allowing twins staying with the McCanns?

If people keep complaining about how bad the Portuguese police is (when in fact they're trying to solve a crime), nobody complains about the Social Services for not doing their job. The McCanns again make today one of those 'loving family' appearances on TV. That was the moment to take those kids from those child neglectors. They haven't been charged but they left the kids alone Better to be with no parents than to have neglecting parents

... because according to McCann supporters there is nothing wrong with leaving three under 4 four year olds alone in a room by themselves every night of your stay in a foreign country and I suspect that most Social Workers probably do the same thing!

Do you think they really would make the same mistake again with their twins after they have paid the ultimate price for it? Do you think the twins wouldn't face trauma and upset if they were to be taken away from their parents? Do you think they should be punished again with the loss of their other children? Would the... Yeah great idea, lets take the twins off them who have already lost their big sister, and put them into the care system to grow up with no parents and a life of possible abuse. Good thinking.

As a parent of 4 and 2 stepkids, i would never leave any of the kids alone in a foreign country, let alone if they were 2 and 4. They did a really stupid thing there but it is a fact that people with intelligence lack common sense. so did they kill maddie and make it look like an abduction or are they just negligent... More

I agree with you. It said on the radio news early this morning, that Leicestershire Social Services has received a petition of over 18,000 signatures asking for them to get involved.

Social Services get slagged off for not stepping in sooner on many occasions. Think this case is too high profile for them to act. I don't think the twins are in any danger, they will have a full house, apart from Press encampment on the doorstep, monitoring their every move.

Try not to get too wrapped up in the media frenzy attached to this case. This is something that the worlds onlookers will subconsciously bay for blood whilst trying to work out their own feelings and ideas. This is one of those extreme situations that show you who are. The worlds sheep will follow and the individual... More

I agree with you, they even admitted to leaving the kids alone so social services should at least investigate. If it was a single mum on an estate who admitted to the media that she left young children alone for even 10 minutes social services would be straight round there... More

I agree where are the social services ? They should been on them as soon as they arrived home. They should be making it known that this is not the way to carry on when you have young children.
