Is it me or are girls developing earlier than at our parents time ?

I must be culpible of several statuatory statusomething rapes by now. By now they seriously check on girls too at clubs and not only guys like it was the case 4-5 years ago, where girls as young as 13 14 passed (Here clubs are 18 and up not 21 and up). Did girls always develope at that rate and its parents who do a poorer job to keep them in check thesedays, or is it something in the food that a 14 year old can be mistaken for an 18 year old thesedays ?

It's a higher standard of living, so yes, that would include something in the food.

No, it's not you. Puberty hits kids two or three years earlier than it did forty years ago.

This is called the 'secular trend' and is believed to be related to nutrition, and possibly spending more time in the company of males... More

You're not imagining it. Puberty hits kids much earlier these years than it used to. We learned about it in psych class, kids are having sex much earlier, having kids much earlier, and starting families much earlier. You tangle that in with peer pressure and pressure from the media, that's your answer.

Improved nutrition. Abbey sounds like she's saying sex in the media is making girls' breasts develop earlier, but either she didn't understand the Q or her answer is strangely worded...PHYSICALLY it's a matter of nutrition. But you don't have to have sex just because your sexual organs have arrived, and that's where... More

Do some reading about mass production of animals used for food such as chickens. They are kept in pens soclose together that they can'tmove and they are fed highly fortified grains ,so the lack ofmovement and the rich diet leads to larger fowl which are full of hormones. Then we eat them. All the feed is then ingested... More

Actually, I've been curious about this for a long time. I once read an article about it, and it's true, girls are physically developing earlier than they used to. Some suggest it might have something to do with chemicals. There was a case where a town in Puerto Rico that was near a factory that produced a lot of... More

One interesting study found that the presence in the household of a biologically related adult male, (aka dad) was related to girls menstruating at a later age. It may be pheremones, but having no dad around tells girls' bodies that it's time to hit puberty. There also is some new evidence about certain environmental... More
