does this job sound like a scam to you?

I recently got offered a position with Liberty National Life Insurance, they need agents, which is a pretty work at home job, here's the catch, I got to pay $100 to get state licensed, he sounded pretty nonchalant about me doing my own research and calling him back if I was still interested sound like a scam?

I am pretty sure every state requires a license to sell insurance now. So no, not necessarily. That could be the course cost, or it could be the test or license cost. Just make sure it is a state mandated license and not some company sponsored deal.

nope. a license is required to sell insurance. just make sure you pay the money to the company issuing you the license, not liberty national.

what would the license be for and who would you pay the $100 to?

My ex did something similar to that but it was with Mega Life Insurance. He had to take a class which he paid for out of his own pocket and paid to get his license. It took about a month and he was not paid for any of it. Insurance agents like that work on commission so if you don't sell any insurance you don't make... More

depends. I don't know much about how this works but who do you have to pay the 100 bucks to? I'd contact the city or company headquarters to find out if its legit. good luck.

Hell yeah it's a scam. Any job that you have to pay to get is a scam. I had one like that were I was to mail off a bunch of letters for this company at home, and all I had to do was send them $125 for the start up fee and materials. They also sent me a computer disk with software to load on my computer that I would... More

Liberty National Life Insurance is a legitimate company and has a satisfactory rating with the BBB, so it's not exactly a scam per se, but honestly I wouldn't take the "job" unless you fancy yourself a hard salesperson who would enjoy pushing insurance policies on people that they probably don't need. You won't get... More

The scam would be it's mostly a work at home deal. h*********u going to get clients from your house? If you have life insurance where and how did you get it? I'll bet the agent came to your house or where you were working at the time. you probably didn't go to their house to sign up... More
