How do we know if the dealer did a good job rust proofing our cars?

I took my car to the dealership to have it rust proofed. How do we know if the dealer did a good job or not? I looked underneath my car, and I dont see much of that black tar rust proof at all.... Hardly any. So , some tips on how to know whether or not it was a good job would be nice. Thanks
