Do employers honor degrees from University of Phoenix and Devry like a degree from atraditional college?

I'm working full time (average about 48 hours a week) and i'm taking 9 hours (which is all i can take) at a traditional university at the moment. My job is a temporary and i'm trying to finish school to have a back up plan so taking only 9 hours a semester is going to take me about 3 years to finish, which may be too long. So anyways University of Phoenix and Devry would allow me to get a degree a lot faster but i'm not sure if many employers would hire me. By the way I want to obtain a degree in Finance or Information Technology. And pursue a career as a Real Estate Broker, Loan Originator/Officer, Financial Advisor, or Database Manager.

No. Think about this, if UOP or Devry offered an MD degree, would you feel comfortable with a graduate operating on you.

It depends very much on the employer. If the employer him/herself went to a traditional college, the answer is generally no. If the employer didn't go to college, s/he probably doesn't know the difference. Also, if the idea behind the degree requirement is just for the employer to say that the employee has a college... But are these universities expected, while persuing higher studies in India? For example, if I have done bacholers Degree from University of Phoenix or Devry, am I elegible for Regular MBA program or distance learning programs (from the institutes like IMT or Simbiosis), in India.

There are other online schools with better reputations than u of p- check this link for some brick and mortar schools, that also may be cheaper. Nothing wrong with online, but why those schools? I've known people with good experiences at Devry, but I always think it's best to look at more than one option... More

I currently go to U of P and love it. If it is something you are interested in learning about you should call the person i talked to at the school. HIs name is Nick, 602-713-0485. My job is paying for half of my education now so I assume most if not all employers are going to recognize the degree.

It goes way beyond issues of accreditation with these two schools, and it's all about their reputation with employers. Now, some employers could care less - so long as you have a degree, they don't care where it was from, so long as the place wasn't literally a diploma mill. However, U of Phoenix and Devry (and ITT... More

Probably not. UofP and DeVry are notorious as "diploma mills". Their business is to give people diplomas rather than to give them a good education. It would probably be better to take an evening program at a traditional college.

Those school's degrees are not really respected by most employers. They're degrees are only nationally accredited which are not considered properly accredited so if you want to get a degree online get one from a regionally accredited school or better yet get your college education onsite because it's more respected.
