When you get a demotion is it leageal to loose all the pay the you make per hour?
I was working as a Assistant Customer Service Manager. I was demoted to a full time cashier. this all came because I would let my cashier at 11:30pm go out to get grocery carts. If they smoke how would I know because at that time at night there are only two of us in the store. I was told that I did not do my work but I have been doing this for the last 2.5 years at this company and was an Assistant Manager for 5 years before this job.

Unfortunately, yes. They placed you in a lower position and are within their rights to pay you the wage customary for that position. If you are no longer doing the assistant customer service manager job, you can not expect to keep the assistant customer service manager pay.
