Yankee Fans....Speculation for Tuesday?
Today on Yankees.com I read an article that stated the organization is close to making a decision concerning the new manager of the Yankees. The three choices are: Joe Girardi, Don Mattingly, and Tony Pena. The decision is to be made Monday and announced on Tuesday. In your honest opinion, who do you think the new manager will be and why? The 10 points will go to the person not based upon opinion, but on reasons why you feel this person is best for the job. Thanks!

It all honesty I hope Joe Girardi gets the job...He has proved himself as a good manager look at what he did with the Marlins...Don Mattingly is a Yankee icon he but I really don't think he should get the manager's title on the fact that he is a Yankee Icon.....He should stay as a bench coach wait a few years get some... The logical choice would be Joe Girardi. First, he's the only one of the three with managerial experience. Now we've all heard that Joe is a control freak and will not get along with the Steinbrenner clan. WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT GETS ALONG WITH THEM!!! He is also a no nonsense guy. Well, maybe that's what some of... More

Girardi is my first choice,if I were the Steinys...why did Ron Guidry not get offered it?--he would be perfect for it(handle the pitchers good and knows how to handle the hitters).Mattingly would be good, but like everyone has said, his experience is not there...we know by hiring Alan Tramell in Detroit, don't hire a hero... I have a feeling Don Mattingly is the choice. I beieve the reason why is that as a freshman manager the yankee brass will easiy be able to control Don. The Yankee organization needs to be in control at all times. Joe Girardi, my choice, is his own man and likes to be in control. Thats why he won't be given the post.

Mattingly...these kids of stiennie want to shoot from the hip, roll the dice, get lucky, and then think they are great baseball minds..Donny is a great dude, of course, but they'll pick him now 'cause they do not really have a thought process and refuse to look at suggestions....Maybe one of them should do it up front... I know the Royals don't count to most people, but Tony Pena did manage that team for a few years. And, best of all, he didn't tell the owner to shut the f___ up, either. Not a bad attribute, really.

Ok, in my honest opinion, i think Joe Girardi is the man for the job. He has one more world series than the other two candidates combined. He can get a job wherever else he wants, and Cashman, and Hank Steinbrenner agree on the manager, and Cashman has already said that he likes Girardi the best.Girardi brought the... More

Mattingly. Idk why. I just chose him. It doesn't matter though. They still won't win the WS.

Girardi SHOULD get the job to kick the players in the butt. Donnie WILL get the job, because he's the "feel good" choice - and he will never have control of the team.

Joe Giraidi will be Signed and Don Mattingly will leave the organization for quite a while. Tony Pena will be mad and might just leave. Joe will be signed to a three year deal contaning 6 million all together.
