U.S. politics- What about the idea not allowing anyone to run for any office while in office. No re-elections.

Elected officials spend too much time raising money for re-election. This would do away with that and do away with career politicians. Reduce the influence of lobbyists. Let them concentrate on their jobs. It's absurd that congress has a low job approval rating, but a high re-election rate. They system favors re-electing incumbants even if they stink. I know two years is too short for representatives too "learn the ropes." Maybe increase terms to 6 or 8 years or do a year under outgoing member.
