He probably gets paid for the project rather than by the hour, in fact i dont think any carpenter gets paid by the hour..

We charge by the hour, your "price" for a job is based on how many hours/ days we see the job as taking. And here in Ct. I get $90 per hour, $720 per day. Plus 15% of all materials... More

Here in Northern Litchfield County Connecticut I do not know of a Licensed and Insured Carpenter who charges less than $50 per man hour.
