How does one get experience as a financial analyst?

All financial analyst jobs seem to require 1 to 2 years experience as a financial analyst. So how does one ever get that experience if you can't get a job without it? I have a degree in Finance, but since college I've worked as a legislative aide and a legal assistant. I'd still like to be a financial analyst if I had the chance, to use my degree and because it pays well but I don't know how to break into that industry.

Companies tend to hire recent college graduates into entry-level financial analyst positions (0 yr experience). Those who do get hired directly out of school usually already have experience in the financial industry through internships, part-time jobs, etc. So I suggest you get an internship to start, either through...
