Should my daughter major in graphic design?

She loves art, is very meticulous, has a good sense of style/creativity - BUT she is determined not to sit in front of a computer all day long. Are there any more graphic design jobs that don't rely heavily on computers?

No, graphic design pays poorly in comparison to most professions. It is very deadline intensive and therefor very stressful. And sitting in front of a computer for 60hrs a week begins to cause serious health issues after ten years or so... More

She's going to have a tough time in the professional world if she doesn't like computers. Ultimately, however, she needs to make this decision for herself.

graphic designers spend A LOT of time on computers... the better question is, does SHE want to major in graphic design? if she likes art, have her explore the various fields of art before college, like taking random intro courses in a junior college while still in high school or just major in something that dabbles...
