How much school do you need exactly to become and air traffic controller? Is there a shortcut?

I am thinking about becoming an air traffic controller but I have researched and have found no direct answer to how long you have to train for or study or even getting a degree. I am a high school senior and have worked part time for 4 years. What would I need to do?

Do you really want an air traffic controller to be taking shortcuts? There are several colleges that offer courses that end in certification as an air traffic controller.

I am not sure exactly how much school you need but my brother attended silver state helicopters flight academy and he is almost done, from my understanding they also have an air traffic control school, i read a news release that 13 out of 15 of their students got hired by the FAA.
