should one apply for a summer internship at a major finance group even though he has a low GPA?

He is from a very prestigious Ivy League undergrad university and had a great summer internship in this summer. He now wants to apply to Goldman Sachs as a summer intern but is worried that his grades will pull him down. There was no minimum GPA requirements for the internship but he still feels self conscious applying. what should i tell him?

Tell him to do it. The worst thing that could happen is that he get rejected. If he is rejected, just remind him that he's not the only one. The experience gain from the process will be good and will help him refine his skills for the future.
