My Dog chases shadows all day and nite. He snaps at the shadows and tries to bite them?

There shouldn't be anything wrong with him, I have a Doberman and she chases the light from flashlights and tries to bite at it. He's still a puppy so he's probably just playing. I wouldn't allow him to do this. It's very unhealthy. It's a compulsive behavior. Discourage and teach him an alternative behavior such as sit or down and to focus on you.

That's an OCD. You may want to talk to your Vet about that and have the vet's office prescribe something - even seeing a veterinary behaviorist, if you can find one, would be great. There are some dogs who will do this until they collapse and harm themselves... More
