How can I secure a call centre job?

I have been invited to a training/assessment day next week for a call centre job. I would really like to get this job, as I could do with the extra income. Have I got a good chance?also, has anyone got any tips so that I can shine at this important day. By the way, the job is interviewing consumers over the phone. I am worried that I may not pass the assessment day. Please help and put my mind at rest.

I would not bother if I were you. They have made it sound quite inviting when in actual fact you will be cold calling and annoying people. I hope you have broad shoulders you will need them. I did this, I was desperate I might add, and hated every moment of it. Think carefully before you take this employment.

If the job is mainly speaking to people on the telephone, you need to make sure you speak clearly and are confident talking. Relax, and dont doubt your abilities

Just turn up. The most difficult part is the MIRROR test....they put a mirror in front of your mouth and if it mists up you get the job !!!!

i work in a call centre and it is not cold calling!! my advice is to be polite at all times and there will be some annoying customers. try to be cheery on the phone as much as you may not feel like it, its not all bad in call centres so just try your best and good luck

It's not generally to hard to get call centre jobs, they tend to be revolving doors and take anyone they can get through the training. (I hope you didn't feel put down in anyway, I just wanted you to feel good about your chance.)

My advice is avoid this job like the plague, just think what you reaction is, when you receive this kind of call on your telephone, are you happy at that time? Think not, does that answer your question, try something else. and good luck my friend.
