Why wasn't Terry Venables kept on as England manager and given another chance?

This would give time for another one to be found. Unless he does well and he can then be kept on and given a longer contract. What has happend was not his fault. He never made the final decisions

I think the fact he was part of the McClaren team is enough to stop him getting the job

no but he was mclarens advisor and 2ic and i dont think the FA wanted him back in the first place

He's favorite to manage Republic of Ireland now...... I dont want him to manage our national side....... 30 years in football and what? 2 trophies? He bad-mouthed England in the past, (his birth-country) in his newspaper column. What would he say about a country he has no links with?
