How do i go about getting a job in a nursing home or a care home for the mentally handicapped?

not as a nurse or anything certified like that...just a job where i help out? i really want to work with either seniors in nursing homes (i looooove older people sooooo much!!!!!) or in a care home for the mentally handicapped, id prefer with children but it doesnt matter. how can i learn more about this?

look in your local classified's under employment health section...or go to your local and ask!

well these days you need to be certified to care for them like you want to. i certainly wouldnt want someone assisting my grandmother that isnt certified.

Some companies even will pay for your training if you agree to work for them afterward. Maybe contact a local agency on aging or the nursing homes and see if they can send you in the right direction.

Try doing vollenter work first, theres a high burn out rate in thouse jobs , and theres a real high turnover rate as well, those jobs are just like any other jobs, all about making corprate money. in fact a lot of those corporation pay the administrator bonuses for saving the corporations money,
