Clownloaches clean or dirty?

I have 4 clownloaches 3 danios 1 cardinal in a 3ft tank. I allow my tank to grow green algie and only leave one of the lights on because I find if I keep it to clean and bright they fret and don't clown around but a few friends came around and told me I was neglecting my fish because their water is not clear and there wasn't enough light for them. Is this true? I feed them flakes and bloodworms, change 25% water once a month and they never get sick.

I would think that your fish prefer clean water.Besides,it must smell something awful ..........that alone would make me change the water.I can't stand the smell of a dirty aquarium, but if it does not bother you then I guess the fish will survive.Good luck.
