Insurance through job, and want a certain surgery. Will the HR manager be able to see the surgery information?

For example, If I was getting a surgical removal of xyz, who would be able to see that information? Would the HR manager that I know, and see frequently automatically have to know that information? I would think that that would be a little embarassing.

You r HR rep will not even know that you had surgery except for whatever you say to him/her. Insurance does not report back to the company.

With the HIPPA law in force, your HR manager should not be able to look at your chart. If they do this would be reason for a discharge and also a lawsuit.
