Is 40,000.00 for the first year good for an OTR driver who doesn't have a cdl? I know that they are paying for
I am trying to be supportive but I am afraid that there is something that is going to be a suprise to him and he is quitting his job to do this soon. He is going to work for a company USA. They are paying for his school that is for 3 weeks?

I think $40,000 is about average for the first year. After that he should make 45,000 to 47,000 a year. I have been driving for 8 years and make about $50,000 as a company driver. And that is only working 5 days a week. I could make more but I'm lazy and don't want to work that hard... More

If it is after taxes and truck payments and such yeah that aint to bad, I think that there are better deals out there though, Does he drive a company truck or does he have to buy one of his own? most companys make you buy your own and then lease them to them.

If they are paying for his school and truck then that's pretty good. Then again that does depend on long haul (cross country) vs short haul (city to city).
