How can you get healthcare when you're pregnant?

I have a friend who lost her job earlier this year. Along with her job, she lost her health insurance. She has found out that she is pregnant and therefore needs medical care ASAP but cannot afford an independant health plan. Is there anything she can do or anywhere she can go? Does she qualify for any free medical healthcare? How can she get it? Thanks!

It depends on what state you are in, but I think almost every state has a version of pregnancy only medicaid. All she has to do is schedule an appointment for prenatal care and let the receptionist know (when she makes the appt.) that she would like to apply for medicaid or other assistance for her pregnancy.

Also... most state assistance covers pregnancy 100?especially if she is unemployed.

Hello and sorry for what is happening to your friend but, there is a solution for her and it is very inexspensive to get your own health care too! It would only cost her $40 a month for all her health needs, and as long as she is 4 months and less she can be accepted pregnant too. Now a days it is vitaly important that you take advantage of controling your own health care, you really have control or it with ameriplan. I'll advise anyone to watch Sico by More ( movie). Caution, if you are an American like me, you will be upset!!!

It depends on the state you live in and often on your reported income. There are agencies public and private that you can go to for help. Believe it or not there is no reason to be fearful. The unemployment office should be able to help. If you have a regular doctor, call or visit the office and ask for information. In my state we have a program set aside for those who cannot afford or do not have health insurance. Here are 2 numbers to call. Health Care Information for Health Care Professionals and Consumers 1-800-358-9295 and Child Health Care Insurance Program 1-877-543-7669. These are federal government numbers. Your local county courthouse should also have social service numbers listed.

I'm a junior in college this fall. I choose my major elementary education so I can shape the minds of young children so they can have a great education. And to ahve a bright future. Last semester, one of my professors told us that there will be times where we will face parents that make our jobs very difficult. I want to know your opinions on teachers, good or bad it doesnt matter. But please answer truthfully and not as a joke. Also I know my question doesnt belong in the general health care category. So please dont rip on me for putting it in this category or how about my grammer, because im really not proofreading what im typing right now to check for grammer.

I just got a job as receptionist in a medical center. I worked there for 1 3-hour shift and I've already come down with a bad cold! The ladies there said I'll eventually build up immunity, but in the meantime, what can I do to improve my general health? I take vitamin pills, I have a pretty good diet (should probably eat more fruit), I wash my hands regularly. Any special herbs I should be eating or anything?

Due to changing my job, my health care is going to be switched over from Kaiser to Cigna in January. I have two prescriptions through Kaiser. How do I make sure I can get them once I am transfered to Cigna? Also, one is for birth control. Do I need to go to a separate gynocologist in order to get it or can I get it through a general practioner since it's already been prescribed to me?
