My girlfriend just graduated with Elementary Education degree, what other jobs could she qualify for?

There are no teaching jobs open right now and needs a job at least untill the beginning of the school year. What should she apply for? Any advice apprieciated.

I think an education degree is applicable to many areas of the work force. Those with education degrees are well equipped to become teachers, of course, but also corporate trainers working for the Human Resources departments of large to medium size companies. she could get a job working at day care center - sometimes they love when newbie teachers work there because they get teaching experience. also, she can look into subbing at an elementary school. most principals enjoy hiring regular subs becuase the students know them and they get along with the students.

i would suggest having her attend jr. high school then high school, congrats on graduating the 4th grade though

She needs to sigh up to sub. This will help her get her foot in the door with the schools in your area. In my county, a certified sub makes 100.00 a day. I have 12 years experience, moved and could not get a job so I am subbing right now. I made up cards and went by the schools to hand them out.

The best thing for her to do right now is try to become a long-term substitute so that she gets experience. Also, depending on where you are located there maybe some openings for teachers where the old teachers left/ got fired. She may also think about doing tutoring or working at an after school program.
