Effectiveness of Job Websites?
Has anyone found a job via the internet (monster.com, hotjobs, etc). I read that the chances of finding a job via the internet is only 5%.

Finding a job thru monster, hotjobs etc. is very discouraging at times...trust me I've tried. I would agree. I have signed up with Monster, Careerbuilder, Jobing.com, and have never been successful. I had a friend tell me that she has a friend who works as a Headhunter for a job placement company called Apple, and that most placement services list jobs on these sights and more, just to see how many responses... I agree with your premise that your chances of finding a suitable job on job websites is pretty low. First, don't post your resume at any of these places. And if you still decide to, do not ever,and i mean ever, enter in your real contact info. It is true. I went to a class that is Mandatory for Military members leaving the military and they teach you all of this. They said there is a 6% chance of finding a job on the internet.
