How do I choose a good career in 9th grade?

I'm only in 9th grade but my dad thinks I should pick a career now for some reason. Why should I think about careers now? And how vdo I pick a career?

haha there is no reason for you to pick a career now! I think what is important in high school is to get the best grades you can in the hardest classes possible, that way once you get to be a senior you will be ready to apply to colleges and have a choice in what ones you want to attend. You don't have to pick one now. It would be good to try and think of things you would like to do but you don't have to pick until after your first year of college (that is when you have to pick a major). Many freshmen and sophomores in college don't even know what they want to do so don't be to worried about it now... More

You do NOT need to pick a career at this point. You should have an idea in which areas you have the greatest interest, such as science, English, history, etc. so that you can focus on taking more courses in those areas... More
