What kind of jobs in law enforcement can be obtained if you have 2 years of patrol experience & a BA Degree?

Such as Detective or Police Chief? Are these jobs somewhat easy to come by with these credentials or is it pretty hard?

Randall, I find it difficult to believe that you are asking that question here if you've got two years of patrol experience. 2yrs on the road, and a BA. Sorry unless you find a small town that needs a chief, or a detective I don't think it will happen. You need more experience. I would suggest, if you want real experience fast go to a Metro PD, or work for a large County Sheriff's office. Most times a detective is promoted from within... More

I guess it depends on your location. I live in Pennsylvania and those credentials are required just to get a good paying full time job. Detectives and Chiefs in my area (Pittsburgh) have Master's degrees and 20+ years experience. They also make 75,000+. Good luck!
