I am interested in becoming a teacher in in Technology Education.?

Are there any Technology Education teachers who would encourage this career or discourage it, and why. I am starting college in a couple of weeks and it is hard to get much feedback regarding Technology Education. Thank you.

In our school system, there used to be quite a few technology teachers at all levels, K-12, but now we have almost none in the elementary level, and the others are sometimes split between schools and have to travel to different schools on different days of the week.
