How do I find out what jobs pay the salary I require? IE: $18+/hr?

My previous career was as a computer programmer in the health claim field. I no longer wish to work as a computer programmer but need to come close that salary to maintain my home and pay my bills. Many of the jobs I see are more entry level than my skills and experience warrant. Thanks for any help!

if you're an educated and qualified individual you can seek the help of a head hunter, they will work for you to find the jobs you want with the pay in the range you're looking for.

if you're totally changing careers, you will most likely have to take a pay cut or go back for more schooling to be qualified to get the better paying jobs in a different field. If you're looking to do something different, your prior work experience as a programmer is pretty irrelevant to a potential employer
