Is Employment recruiting basically an HR job?

I was wondering if IEmployment recruiting basically an HR job? Is it kind of like the professional placement industry? I was wondering if anyone knew much about this type of work? Im comtemplating going to do an interview with this company and they said its training to eventually recruit employees to full time jobs. Any thoughts or suggestions ab out this being related to HR and a good field? Steve, what do you mean by recruiting is more sales than HR? Also, what does "pushing paper" mean?

Many of these jobs are entirely commission based. You should be good at recognizing talent from a resume and also at conducting interviews. It can be good money!

Recruiting is more sales than HR. If you like to push paper, you will NOT like being a recruiter. and yes, many times the job pays commission only, or a very small salary. but if you can hang in through your first 2-3 years, you'll be making $100K after that (if you're average at it).

No. In recruiting you are limited to the HR laws and knowledge that actually make up a true HR job. I use to be a professional recruiter. They are very different. Besides the laws that apply to an agency are different than those of a corporation. Good luck.
