what is the society idea about airline pilots?

I have a friend and he is quit vain of his job and i think its just a technical job without any prestije.do you really think it is hight class job?

Hmmm. I can see where alot of pilots would be stuck up about their jobs. Look at how the movies always portray a jet pilot as a "cool guy" and a commerical pilot as "heros". I think anyone who is in a profession they consider challenging and love doing would seem vain about it. Look how chefs are always portrayed, "my" kitchen attitude. If your friend loves his job, then isn't that good? Does he put down your job to elavate his own?

In my experience most.not all pilots have an elevated view of themselves....their job is important but it takes everybody who works for an airline to make it work....also private aviation is more than just the pilots...there are mechanics,ground crew,etc needed to make it work...I can't forget about the ATC guys either... More

try walking a mile in their shoes!. Do you have ANY idea how much study/ education and difficult skill set is required to be an Airline Pilot.
