Do you think I should apply for a customer service job using an engineering resume?

hi yahoo, I am looking to get a customer service or any kind of full time position right now for atleast a month or 2. But I have an engineering degree and the only resume I have is an electrical engineering resume . Do you think I should use it and just change the objective ? Or change it altogether? p.s:is it a good idea to tell the employer I just need the job for 2 months or lie to him/her [is it required for me to put down my education on the resume , if not can they find that out using background check?] i'm asking these questions because I'm trying to figure out if my degree will block me from having a customer service position !!
