What is the average amount a substitute teacher will make for a one days work?

I am planning to work as a substitute teacher in Miami and I was wondering how much does a substitute teacher charge per day or hour, is it different if it is elementary, middle school or high school? any ideas?

the school district will usually have a standard rate that they pay for subs, may be different depending on specialty areas.

Depends if it is public or private. I have seen between $60-$100. Private schools usually pay less for substitutes.

In my State, every school district pays a different amount.

It depends where you sub. Most public school districts have set pay based on your degree level, you don't get to choose it. For example in the county where I teach (I am a real teacher not a sub, but I know the sub pay scale), if you only have a high school diploma you get about 8 dollars an hour. For an associates... Here it's $60/day ($30 for a half-day) for non-degreed subs. They pay more for a degree and even more if the assignment is long-term. I'm not sure about the pay for the last two categories, but I know it's less than $100/day... More
