how can i get a coffee stain out of an afgan i am crochetting?

the afgan is an american flag and the coffee stain is on the red and white yarn.

hand wash ?

It should come out with Shout. I wouldn't wash it until you're finished. The yard you wash may shrink, so when you add yard to complete it, the two yards won't match.

i would for now pre treat with something like shout. finish the afghan and then either hand wash or wash in machine on delicate. should come right out. use fabric softener and dry on low or air dry and should be good as new.

Check the label on your yarn. I'll bet it is a washable yarn. Finish the afgan before you pretreat. Some pretreat products should be washed right after use.

If your crochetting there's only one way to go... burn it... i'm not sure if it's going to get the stains out...but it will get rid of them

if its ok to do this on the yarn; I think i'd just steam the stain out... hold it over warm steam and sponge the coffee out.
