Software Engineering?

Hi, I'm a senior in high school and I'm deeply interested in the engineering field. I've always had a keen interest in computers including video games, programming languages, operating systems, and much more. I also love my math courses in High School and I've taken over the past 4 years 6 math courses. I'm going off to college soon and I want to try and figure out the engineering career I wish to go into. The question I'm trying to ask is if you could give me details on what a software engineer does on the job, and any information about what you do would as a software engineer would be great. I would greatly appreciate your time, and thank you.
