I am liable if parked badly and someone runs into my car ?

I was parked on the street but the back of my car was not fitting entirely a parking spot. Someone ran into the back of my car and left hitches on the rear bumper (nothing serious but enough for a good paint job). I am responsible / liable for the other party's cars damage ?

While your parking left something to be desired, you are not liable for the damages to the other vehicle. You were parked and not moving. Arguably, I suppose you have some liability, but the other guy was more than 50% At Fault for the loss. In most states, he could not recover against your liability coverage.

The majority, if not all of the liability would be on the other guy for driver inattention. And just so you... More
