Please tell me why we need Nationwide Healthcare...?
I work for MedStar Ambulance, I run "Emergency calls" every day that I work. Over 50% of my emergency calls are Homeless people with nothing wrong with them who we are required to transport to the hopsital because we cannot refuse anyone service. These people clog up our resources and real emergencies do not get responded to as quickly. These people do not pay. These people are homless bums who would rather hold a street sign then get a job. They have no ambition and yet our democratic party wants to raise my insurance costs for healthcare to cover these worthless bums. Please tell me why we need Nationwide Health Insurance. Negative sir, I run homeless all day everyday. Yes some are real emergencies, Yes a few have problems. The large number of them are crying wolf, they want a blanket, a free ride to the hospital, or a free meal at the hospital. They call in that they are having a Priority 1 Heart Attack and cause us to respond and on some days when we get busy we respond late to real emergencies. The real crime is that people die everyday because bums want a free trip to Harris Hospital Its easy for you to argue with me about homeless people, when did you last have a conversation with them? Lol. I can see where some of you are coming from but they would not have to jack prices up if they could do something about preventing homeless free loaders from exploiting free services. Emergency workers are the most underpaid profession in health care and because I worked in the billing side I know that we only collect 40% of the calls that our company runs. Our service is poorly subsidized by the city and state because in our area they have elected to increase the costs to the user. Without medical treatment our bill is 1000$ but it wouldnt be so high if we didnt have to make up for the 60% that didnt pay. I got in this business to help people that NEED help, not to be a Taxi Driver.

Because whether homeless or not, we need to take care of unfortunate people, anybody can be in the same situation after being unemployed and unable to pay rent and its not fair for you to think that everyone is lazy. You can not stereotype people like that... More

Glad to know people are expendable. A large number of homeless are mentally ill who are in desperate need of treatment. Many are vets who can't cope.

I dont agree with Nationwide Health Insurance. Screw that. I already pay enough taxes that go to the homeless or women on welfare that have ten kids and wont get a job. Lazy and Ignorant.

Any system that provides free or low cost services, is going to be abused. There are and will always be greedy and lazy people in the world. Those that need and deserve help sometimes have to do without because of our (general public) reluctance to institute programs that can and will be abused by those who don't... More

WE need nationwide healthcare for EXACTLY the reason you cite. Emergency care is the MOST EXPENSIVE care and is the ONLY universal healthcare! But you should get in another line of work as you are judgemental about people you know nothing about.

We do not need national health care, the big drug pharmaceuticals do, they are addicted to huge profits, maybe the people should come up with a drug they could take to counteract their addiction??

As in an society, anywhere on the planet, you have a percentage of the people that fall into the category you described. However, the trend in America has a twofold effect on our healthcare. One is that employer paid healthcare is slowly grinding to extinction. More businesses are dropping paid healthcare due to the... More

Why do we need Nationwide Healthcare? To line the pockets of our bureaucrats and Big Pharma, of course. Seriously though, at this point we just can't afford it. Our economy is ready to go belly up and all our politicians can think about is taxing us more.

Because if you're going to provide healthcare to every illegal alien in the USA the least you can do is provide healthcare for those people that are actually here LEGALLY.
