How to get a part-time job in a foreign country (Germany)?

Ok, so I'm here in Germany studying and let's just say that I haven't exactly been as thrifty as I should have been...and so I need a part-time job. I've been trying a few places but they always tell me the same thing 'your German has to be perfect' which it isn't I can get around and I understand almost everything people tell me but that's about it. I speak English and French fluently, whatever that's worth. I tried tourism offices, tourist shops, cafés, hotels...Any idea? Online job databases only provide 'real jobs' but not short-term jobs for starving foreign students. Even McDonald's wants people who can speak German, can you believe that!

Try MacDonald's. Seriously. I worked for Mackers in Munich and they found me very useful because I could explain the regional menus to tourists. It was about the only time I have ever promoted junk food, and thankfully I no longer have to.
