is it normal to be kinda bored?
not sad, but kinda ... almost bored? I'm 23, lived in LA for 1.5 years, have a great job building spacecraft for 65-85K, wonderful dog, no debt, net worth of 65-85K, been to 40 states, europe and asia, skydving, scuba diving, hiking, in-shape (can swim and run my yards/miles), getting a masters, visited SF, San Diego, and just about 75% of the LA tourist book, including the hole-in-the walls... i dunno. maybe i just have a difficult time ... bonding with the people i meet? or having a hard time meeting with people i should bond with? advice? (dog makes me happier, yes. :) TT : nah...besides LA, i think only NYC would satisfy me culturally, but LA is home for now b/c of the job. Ms. Emily1: haha...unfortunately, only a few methods exist to earn half-a-mil (most in finance, excluding marrying rich). for my age and situation, i'm good. lolo : yeah, instead of studying so much back at MIT i should have been partying with the rest of the Boston peeps!! dana: not depressed. i like my work. it's better than being in debt and busting tables! gggsby: yeah, volunteering is cool, but it doesn't do it for me...maybe cause I finished my 200 hours of community service back in HS...so i just donate $1-$2k to financially-sound groups (or so i think) and get a tax deduction. PAULH: counting my gold and experiences puts my whining into perspective. Sure, maybe I'm bored right now, but I've still got it better than the average joe. No poor man ever complained about having too much money, and no 50-year-old regrets not having experienced/traveled less in her 20s. Not directed arrogance, just my way of justifying my life means something.

Get a 2nd job & come back on here when you're making $500K / year & still living in L.A., at your current income, you're probably renting a studio apartment 'da hood. Then let's see if you're still bored.

Sounds you do a lot for yourself. How about doing something for someone else. Volunteer for a cause you can be passionate about. Giving back always feels great.

I find it that whatever I do, I get bored with it unless I'm interacting and getting to know other people. Just make some close friends and then you've got endless entertainment together.

You sound really lonely to me...not bored. Find a lover. You've got a dog? Dogs are always good ice-breakers. Go with your 4-legged friend and find a 2-legged friend!

Maybe the answer is just to embrace the boredom. You have to realize that your not going to be doing something exciting 100% of the time, and boredom believe it or not can be beneficial if you let it. My advice to you is just to enjoy the moments that your having fun, and embrace the boredom as it just being a part of... More

You seem bored by your own accomplishments, and have reduced them all to numbers. A good woman might be more of a challenge. One who likes dogs? Don't be a bookworm and stop counting your gold and experiences. You're not lonely or bored, just alone. Don't be a spacecraft. Don't try to bond, or dock. Crash into people... More

Im bored here all the time. But thats because im still in college and living in a dump working 2 jobs. LA is not very fun when you cant afford to do nothing. And when most girls would rather date the rich guys, i dont blame the girls though, id date a rich woman if i could too.
