What would a STG do in teh real world? Navy?

I am deciding between electronics family jobs, one is CTN, the other is Sonar tech or something, iw as todl sonar tech is mroe interesting day in and day out, but wha tcan i do in teh civilian world iwth that experience?

nada, you'll have time to get a degree in those six years though, but not even a good one, it's the job no one wants soyou're most likely to get stuck in it to. CTN is awesome, but very difficult.

Did you look at the job description? Sonar Tech is a sea intensive rate, and you are limited in what types of ships you can go on.
