What is the present scenario for commercial pilots jobs?

I m a school student and i want to take Commerial pilot as my career. I want to know about the present job availabe. Is this industry booming? What is the success rate in India after getting a CPL? Is it fruitful to get into this profession? Is it easy to make into some good airline nowdays? I would really thankful and appreciate if a pilot (or anybody who has the knowledge about this) answer my questions.

John is correct in my view. You won't know the answer to your question until the day you retire. If you don't pursue the career you may wish you had. But what industry do you have a guarantee or for that matter in anything you do. The old saying "The only guarantee in life are death and taxes"
