I have a job offer pending in Hartofrd,CT? Is Hartford a goodplace to live for a white single 27 year old male

The job is actually in Bristol,CT. I would be moving from the San Fernando Valley portion of Los Angeles. I have a job offer pending with a company in Bristol,Ct. I'm concerned that Connecticut may be to country/suburban for me. Another concer of mine is limited service to Bradley airport. Most flights require a plane change in Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas or Atlanta. Does anyone think this is a good move if I get offered the job? The job only pays $25,000 anually. This job is for ESPN networks. I got my BA degree in radio-tv and film almost 4 years ago. ESPN would be a good company to start off with.

Bristol CT is pretty much central CT. So it depends if you decide to live close to where you work and how much you are willing to travel to work. Bristol is about 2hours from NYC and less than 2hours from Boston. Then those cities airports could be used. If you choose to live say maybe 40-50 min from your job in... More

I'd think long and hard before moving here. At the very least, visit a few times before you make a decision. The way of life is very hard to get used to. I love New York, but I'm still trying to adapt to life here eight years later. People are pretentious, selfish, oblivious, rude, and think Connecticut is the center... More

ESPN is a great place to work for. The area is not country, but it is very suburban. There are nice parts of Hartford and downtown was hit hard by a number of factors but is rebounding, if you like city life. Also West Hartford is sophisticated but somewhat older. There are cheap suburbs like Newington... More

hartford is not a bad city (if your in a good part of the city) my father lives in Rocky Hill which is literally a ten minute drive from downtown (30 minutes from bristol). It is a nice town not as urban as Hartford but not so uncity like some other parts of CT. Most flights have one stop in them to refuel so the... More
