Moving to Australia from UK?

Me and my husband are considering moving to Aus. I am a doctor with 2 years experince of working in a hospital, my husband is a building surveyor. Could you tell me: -how easy is it to get a job in these fields, are they indemand? -the approx salary for these jobs -how competitive the job market is -the cost of living compared to the UK -would our english qualifications transfer to Aus or would some other training etc be needed? thanks :)

Doctors are in short supply in Australia and the building industry is booming so I don't see you having any problems getting employment. I suggest you contact the Australian embassy they should be able to answer most of your questions. You could also try contacting the Australian Medical Association. I think the... More

Both jobs are definately highly in demand, you will be paid vey well. Doctors in regional areas are paid more highly than in cities, but they are also busier with higher workloads... More

Being a doctor you would be easily accepted as a skilled worker. Medical fields are in incredibly high demand in Australia. Your husband would be able to get work though I'm not sure if it would be considered a skilled position... More
