How do I stop a former employee from displaying my name at my former place of employment?

When I worked for this company, one of the ownefs put plaques on the wall with the names of employees who had received special training. Well I left that job in October of 2007 and my name is still on their wall. I feel that if I am no longer their employee that they don't have the right to use my name.

Simply call the manager and ask. If you do not want it to be known, call their district office, ethics line, or something of the sort. It can all be taken care of with a phone call. They should not get upset about you not wanting your name on display.

contact an attorney & find out about your rights.

you did receive the training, so it's not like they are defaming you or anything since it's the truth. maybe you should nicely request if your name could be removed. I don't thing they are under any obligation to move it though

The first thing I would do is call and request they remove your name from the list, if they refuse, then contact an attorney. Your rights will probably depend on the laws in your state when it comes to employment issues.

Why would you care? Sounds to me like you're just looking for something to complain about.
