Adult student trying to move to Wilmington, NC, need suggestions?

I decided on impulse that I want to move and continue school in Wilmington, NC. I am currently working as a CNA and considering asking my DON can I transfer to the facility in Wilmington. I haven't asked yet so I don't know if they have any vacancies... if I'm getting my hopes up. I was looking at apartments in the area and the rent there is about a hundred or two more than it is here, plus utilities. I am about 3 hours away from Wilmington, by the way. I see a lot of college students posting how they want someone to take over their lease so I wonder will I get lucky? But I have bad credit and I don't know if that will stop me from being able to move down there as far as living arrangements. If I can transfer in like July and hopefully secure an apartment then, I will go to the community college for my associates last year before transferring to university. I'm 23 but I don't know if this quick decision is smart. What do you think?
